Velocity Cafe & Cyclery opened Sunday (10/19).

It's located on the SE corner of Pershing & DeBaliviere.

Approx hours are 7am-9pm (subject tochange).

I stopped in and got my first cup of Joe yesterday and I must say it was good.

I look forward to hanging out there this coming weekend.

Labor Day Weekend                     September 1 - 2, 2007                     3 - 11 p.m.                     Free!                     The 2007 Big Muddy Blues Festival welcomes Ike Turner to the             main stage on Sunday September 2nd! East St. Louis' own Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer returns to his roots and promises  to rock the house -- and Get Muddy -- at this year's festival.                     Additional main stage headliners include: New Orleans' Big Sam's Funky  Nation, Delta bluesmen Terry “Big T” Williams & Wesley “Junebug” Jefferson, Devon Allman's Honeytribe, Big George Brock & The Houserockers, and Kim Massie!                     More bands and a complete schedule of local artists will be announced  soon, so check back for more details!                     Please remember -- no pets, no coolers, no bottles or cans are            allowed.

Founded in 1988, Food Outreach is the only St. Louis area-organization focused on providing nutritional support to men, women and children living with cancer or HIV/AIDS. The Board of Directors, staff and volunteers of Food Outreach have made it their mission to enhance clients' quality of life through proper nutrition. Food Outreach and its volunteers prepare and deliver nutritious meals, provide groceries, and offer nutritional counseling to persons infected with either HIV/AIDS disease or trying to survive cancer. Clients choose meals from a menu developed by a registered dietitian with recipes created specifically for the needs of people living with these life-threatening diseases.   Their food helps clients tolerate treatments and makes certain medications work like they should.
