NATIONAL HOMELESS AWARENESS MONTH
November is National Homeless Awareness Month. Take time this month to give thanks and to help those is need by donating food items or your time. Here are some locations that will be serving Thanksgiving meals:
Centenary Church of St. Louis located at 1610 Olive Street will be hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday November 26th at 12:00pm. To donate food items or your time, call 421-3136.
* In addition, they are having a Walk for Awareness this Saturday, November 8th starting at 2:00pm. They will start at 1610 Olive Street and walk through downtown St. Louis. It is free and open to all ages. There will be free refreshments, and organizations that help homeless individuals will be there to inform you of more ways in which you can help.
New Life Evangelistic Center located at 1411 Locust is holding a Thanksgiving Day Dinner as well as a Turkey Telethon. To find out about volunteer opportunities, call (314)421-3020 ext.303, or stop by any Sunday at 2:00pm for their weekly volunteer meeting.
Sunshine Ministries located at 1520 N. 13th Street provides food items for those in need to take home to enjoy with their families. To find out what food items are needed, or to volunteer your time, call them at 231-8209.
